In the lower right corner of the above back cover, Counter Basic Strategy appears inside of the star. When playing blackjack, “regular” Basic Strategy means making the best playing decision given the rules, the dealer's upcard, and the cards in the player's hand - 3 factors. Counter Basic Strategy differs from regular Basic Strategy because it also considers a 4th factor. It requires a card counting method (like the Hi-Lo or K-O) to determine when and by how much to vary your bet with the count.
The use of Counter Basic Strategy allows you to win about 10-22% more than compared to counting and using regular Basic Strategy!
